About AEC

The Adventure Education Center (AEC) adheres to an educational philosophy that emphasizes the importance of concrete experiences, and reflecting on those experiences in order to promote learning. Since its inception in 1982 AEC/SuperGames has become a leader in team building programs, offering participants the opportunity to challenge themselves in a variety of ways. Whether a group is working together to solve a low ropes initiative or traversing one of the many obstacles on our high ropes courses, each experience provides endless learning possibilities.

The organization originally began as a way for Graduate students at The Ohio State University to continue their studies in an outdoor environment with area youth. Today, the AEC is home to one of the most extensive challenge course facilities in the Midwest. At Camp Lazarus, just 9 miles north of I-270 and the Columbus metropolitan area, we have 40 acres consisting of 6 high ropes courses, an intermediate challenge area, 'The Jungle Nook' for the younger students, and countless other adventure based activities. In addition to our school year adventure activities, we also offer an Adventure based summer camp program. The Adventure camp offers themed summer camp experiences for grade levels K – 9. Whatever your objectives may be, AEC is here to deliver.
